So proud!

We were sitting on the couch tonight, and heard the dog making a ruckus. I look over to see that he is in the bathroom. Now that may not seem weird--but my dog does NOT go into the bathroom by free will. He won't even step on the tile.

So there he is, in the bathroom, and out comes THE bark. I normally know what all of his barks mean, and this one was the "MOM-THERE'S A MOUSE IN THE HOUSE!!" bark. That will strike fear in anyone. I just knew that Fido had returned.

I look around the bathroom, and to my amazement, I do not see a Fido, I see a WASP! A huge, scary wasp! I slammed the door as fast as I could and called my husband. Understand this-my husband is not a bug person.

BUT--He immediately grabs our only practical wasp killing device--a new spatula--and heads to the bathroom. After stalking down the wasp, he smacked it--and down it fell in record time!

I was SO proud!

Here we go again!

Last fall, after the overly-dramatic, frustrating, pretty much out right ridiculous season of The Bachelor, I vowed that I would never, never, ever watch that show again.

Fast forward to last week. Up comes the commercial for the new season, and once again I said I would never, never, ever watch again. Fast forward with me again to last night. House is gone until the fall, I am way to behind on One Tree Hill to watch the season finale, and 24 has never seemed that great to me. So, after alot of deep thought--umm or maybe just realizing that it was premire night, I turned on the show that I was never, never, ever going to watch again.

And folks, I watched it. And next week, I will probably watch it again. There is something about laughing at 25 men get territorial and make fools of themselves that is just hilarious. So here is to Jillian finding love--or "the h-word" or "Mr. Invisible" as she has apparently chosen to call him, or really just to another few monts of being entertained by the most dramatic season of the Bachelorette in television history.

The Shred: Update

Today was day 10 of my 30 day shred (I missed 2 days somewhere in there!). Oddly enough, I find myself looking forward to those 20 minutes each day--they are kind of refreshing! Throughout this new adventure, I feel that the Lord is teaching me alot about self control, and persistence. I am very good at starting things at not finishing them, but hey-- 1/3 down...only 2/3 to go!

Speaking of exercise...did anyone watch the Biggest Loser? 1500 pounds. Wow. That is the cumulative amount of weight lost on this season. A 64 year old man lost the most weight at home-with only 2 weeks of training from the show. A 40 something year old woman (the newest Biggest Loser) now weighs less than I do! That is just so amazing to me!

The One With Snowcones

So a while back I posted this. I will admit, that was not one of my better days. Fortunately, we have those days, and we get over them! I did not title that post for some reason. Looking back now, I should have titled it "The One Without Snowcones."

Today, I would like to welcome you to "The One With Snowcones" and all of the amazing glory that comes with those words.

A few weeks ago, I decided to take yesterday off. My roommate has Thursdays off, so it was a perfect chance to head up to my old home sweet home and hang out. (Yes, I did say roommate. No, we do not live together anymore. Yes, we will still probably call each other that when we are 90) Fortunately, our dogs are also roommates, so I packed up the pup and we headed out.

We headed out to lunch at Olive Garden while the pups reacquainted themselves. She then needed to make a stop at one of my most frequented locations in Denton:

UNT-Home of the mighty screaming eagles.
(Man...even the smells were so familiar!)

Next, we headed off to my FAVORITE place! The snowconeplace. To be specific, the we put gummi bears in our snowcones place. Mmm.
I am sure you can't see it, but there is a "closed" sign in the window. I could have cried. Seriously? Seriously!

So off we went to the second best option-Bahama Bucks. No gummi bears. But still delicious!
So, with our traditional snow cones and dogs in tow, it was off to Wiggley Field!

Lots of furry friends. And dogs with odd social habits!

They even have a cute water fountain for the pups!

The rest of our day was consumed with many other fabulous adventures--AKA Target, Old Navy, Marshalls, Sprouts (an amazing new health food store) and some Raising Canes!

It was def. a much needed day and we had a ton of fun!

Let the shredding begin

As I type, I am having to lift my fingertips and place them on each key.

Ok. Well maybe that is a tad dramatic. But stepping out of bed this morning, and walking down the stairs took about that much effort.

Why? You ask?

After reading this post by BooMama, and because of my love for Biggest Loser (I mean...it did spur on my start of healthy eating) I decided to order join the challenge over here.

The challenge entails getting the "30 day shred" dvd (not to hard) and going through it once a day (oh my lands its hard). I am on day 2. There are 3 levels to work yourself up through, and each level has beginner and advanced workouts. Maybe I will get out of Level 1, beginner by day 30.

I 100% understand now why the contestants on that show cry, and sweat, and yell at her. Because I am pretty sure I yelled at my tv yesterday, and sweat more in 20 minutes than I have in all of 2009. (I mean come on now-She keeps telling me to push it and she doesn't even lose her lip gloss)But with the promise of losing 20 lbs. in 30 days in sight, I suppose I will keep sweating, and yelling at my tv.

So, if you see me hobbling, don't laugh. If I can't sit down, be understanding. It's all for a good cause.
