Spent

I am finally home from all my trips....and I am spent.

Kamp and Staff Retreat were amazing, refreshing and I learned alot through both of them, but my lack of sleep has officially caught up with me!

My plan for tonight? Well since the hubby is out of town at a conference, I am going to turn off my computer, turn on some girly tv and eat something that probably isn't good for me!

Whew!

Im baaaack! But not for long!

Camp was amazing. I just don't even have the time or energy to do a "Camp Post" any justice right now....just know that God was there and those kids....well they just rocked my world! I will be back soon with a real camp post and pics!

Unfortunately that post will have to wait a few days...I am off again in the am to our annual staff retreat! I am so blessed to be on such an incredible staff, and I am so excited to put our heads and hearts together to see where God is leading our church in the next year!

Until then....!

And we're off....

Well....almost at least!

I'll be heading out tomorrow to take 21 kiddos on our first ever Kidz Kamp! I am SO excited to see what God has planned for this week!

Please join me in praying for our safety as we travel and as we are at camp this week!

The Office

A few months ago I got a beautiful chest of drawers with mirror from my families garage sale. I decided to use it for now without the mirror to hold my craft supplies. Later (in like over 5 years) it would be great with the mirror for a nursery. This weekend I got it, and had to sand and paint it.

Here is the finished product:
Here is an up close of the lamp! I got it at a clothing store around here that was going out of business!

Painting such a large object in such a small room was interesting, but I made it work! Since I was already cleaning out my craft supplies, I decided to go ahead and clean out the rest of the room so that it would be useable.

I made some new curtains for the windows (for $10!)
And threw some new pillows (LOVE EM!) on the Tar-jey futon!
And there you have it! One brand new office!

Ideas?

Ok...so lately I have been in this organizing/crafty/homey kick. I redid a dresser yesterday (in our living room....more to come on that one later!) and made some curtains and have been decluttering like nobodies business.

Here's the deal though- My wedding dress and veil sat in Mark's car for 4.5 months after we got married. I have/still do not have any desire for a massive dress in my not so massive apartment. I am a sentimental person, so I do want to keep it-but not in my closet, and not in it's original state.

So after giving it some thought (5 months to be exact) I have come up with a plan....well the start of one at least. I want to turn my dress into a Christmas tree skirt, and use the rest of it/the veil for an angel. I have heard of this being done, and lets face it, when am I more sentimental than Christmas. PERRRRFECT!

Now here is what I need help with. I have no clue how in the world to accomplish this oh so perfect goal. I thought I would see if any of you had any ideas or knew of anyone who had any ideas of how to accomplish such a feat. Let me know! :)

Ouch!

This past weekend my best friend and her husband came and stayed with us. We went out to eat, had lots of Walmart trips, grilled out, and swam! It was a blast!

On Saturday, we swam for about 3 hours right in the heat of the day. Unfortunately, my sweet husband decided not to put sunscreen on until it was too late. After we came in, he laid around in pain. He now has blisters ALL OVER his arms and back. And I can feel his pain--once in college I had the same thing happen to me--only mine was so bad I couldn't wear a bra, or anything but a spaghetti strap and I had to wear this icing/cream on my shoulders for 2 weeks!

So needless to say, he is in ALOT of pain right now and we have been doing alot of relaxing these past few days! Hopefully he will be all well before our holiday weekend!
