Life Lately: Here comes summer!

We have been up to all kinds of fun lately! Summer is on its way, which means it is nice outside (for a few more weeks!).

We enjoyed dinner and pie with friends.

We biked and boated with Papa & Nonnie! Academy= a playground in toddler world!

We have had to wear our shades a lot lately...

We have dined.

And biked outside with neighbors.

We have hit up the parks, and played on many a swings!

All of that fun means that we have lounged a little too!

We had our first splash pad experience of the summer.

We celebrated the birthday of a new best friend! (Who we can't wait to meet!)

And had a yummy snow cone.

We have turned into crazy climbers.

And bakers.

All in all, I would say the summer looks like it will be a great one!

Daddy Fun Day!

Mark has had to work a lot in the last week, including a late day on a Saturday.  His day last Thursday was slow, so we took advantage of it and had a family fun day!

We started out at the Perot Museum. Mark had never been, and we had a blast! Ashlynn loved the dinosaurs, and all of the hands on exhibits.

Next up was lunch at a new place in Dallas.  They had great food, picnic tables (for when it isn't raining!), and popsicles for the girlies.

When we got home, it was raining. We had been telling Ashlynn that she could play in the rain, so we all went out and splashed around!

The fun continued on Saturday. We headed out to Cedar Hill to congratulate my dad on finishing a 60 mile bike race.  We had some delicious food with him and Lianna.

Afterwards, we were going to take the girls to a splash pad, but they were all closed. Instead, we treated them to some homemade treats from the Paleteria nearby.

Mother's Day 2014

This Mother's Day, I felt as if I had switched from thinking I somehow "deserved" or needed praise and recognition, to seeing it as a day of being so aware of the blessing of being a mom. To think that the Lord would bless me with two of the most precious little girls and one baby in heaven.... it is overwhelming at times.

I pray that through the tantrums, the attitudes, the smiles and the fun, that I can be a mom that shows my kids the love of the Lord. I pray that I show them patience, grace, love and strength.

For Mother's Day, we spent the day going to church, relaxing as a family, and going to dinner with my mama!

Mark and I are both so blessed to have so many wonderful moms & grandmothers in our lives.  They truly have guided us and been examples of how to love the Lord.  Happy Mother's Day to each of your wonderful women :)

I had been wanting a new purse for a while, now that we are past the "mega-diaper bag" phase.  My sweet husband gifted me with this new purse, that I LOVE! He is a blessing, and I am lucky to have him as a partner in parenting. I would not be the mom I am without him.

Picture Overload

Someday I intend to start writing more in my blog posts. I love reading back and seeing where I was mentally/emotionally/spiritually throughout the past few years.  Buuuuuut, right now, life consists of  keeping TWO toddlers (thank you Amy Marks for reminding me of that!) out of everything. Favorite things to get into at the moment consist of play doh that is in the very top cabinet, coffee, the dog bowl, toothpaste, and mom's nightstand.

So yes, needless to say, laptop time is limited.  Which is why almost every post is pictures. But memories are memories, no matter which form they are shared in!

Without further ado, here are way too many pictures, and a few snippets, too!

Ashlynn's new obsession? "Ice-team tones". That was a "post swim lesson" favorite.

Future doctor? She loves to play doctor with her animals or her sister.

Ya know, eating her toe. Totally normal right? I included this so that I can show it to her future husband ;)

My loves. Watching Nick Jr., I am sure. It is our little "bedtime routine".

B was sleeping so sweetly. I tried to take a pic, but the flash went off. Oops!

Look at that sass-a-frass face. Lord help us.

This little one LOVES the wind. She was so happy when it was cold, windy and 32 outside. Apparently sunny, windy and 70 will work too.

Too.Big.

Just a little mama loving.

Tv, books, and musical instruments. The girls morning routine while I get ready.

That is, unless they are spilling the entire box of cheerios out and playing in it together.

That "fun" escapade brought on Ashlynn's first lesson in vacumming.

This girl loves her papa. And everyone else with the title of grandparent.

Showing of her tricks.

These sisters melt my heart. They are becoming friends, and it is beyond precious.

Family fun at the "pood trucks"

Biking with Gator.

Ashlynn figured out that the intercom at Walmart was someone talking. She would look up, gasp, and yell "HEY!"

Grandpa Evy is in town for a few months. Bailey thinks he is hilarious!

Ice cream. Again!

Like I said...we really enjoy getting the playdoh from the top cabinet...
