Baby B:38 Weeks

This post was written before Miss Bailey made her arrival! I figured that since I officially made it to 38 weeks, I would go ahead and post it for my memories!

I have been having a lot of contractions, but nothing that is effective. As of Monday, I was still 1.5 cm dilated and the baby was high. I had gone to L&D on Sunday because of contractions every 3-5 minutes.  The nurses felt bad sending me home because I was in such pain, but the contractions just weren't effective. I spent all day Friday eating spicy food and walking around shopping with my dad and Lianna. It was a great way to get out of the house and for Baby A to get some extra loving!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 38 weeks
Size of baby: She should be a little over 19.5 inches long and weight 6.8 lbs (about the size of a leek).
Weight gain: +17
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Gender: Another sweet girl!
Movement: Movements are much slower, but also much bigger when they happen.
Sleep: Sleep is still ok until 2-3.  After that I normally move to the couch, where I sleep some nights and don't others.
Symptoms: Exhaustion, pain (from kidney stent), contractions, very moody, nausea
What I miss: Not feeling pain 24/7
Cravings: No cravings, although I am not feeling anything too greasy
Best moment this week: Heading to L&D on Sunday night for false labor...not excited about leaving, but excited that my body is getting ready!
What I am looking forward to: The arrival of our sweet girl in the next few weeks (or days!)
Dad and Big Sister: Mark has still been such a huge help and encouragement.  Ashlynn has been such a trooper. She had fun going to the Bonkers Gym with her friend Kel this week!

Baby B:37 Weeks

37 Weeks! Full term! Yay! I officially went off of the meds at bedtime last Friday night.  I had been having contractions without them, so we will see if they pick up more.  I went for my 36 week checkup last Monday.  He did not check for dilation but said everything looked great.  I had contractions all day last Tuesday, up to 2-7 min apart for a couple of hours.  Another Dr. checked me for dilation and nothing had changed, but they put me on modified bed rest for the week.  My mom and dad came throughout the week to help love on Miss A so that I could rest!

Easter 2012, Part 2

This past weekend, we had a "delayed" Easter celebration with my dad, his girlfriend, a few great-grandparents and most of the kids/grandkids!

We headed over around lunch time and enjoyed some time outside. It was such a beautiful day!

Swinging with Papa!
After lunch, the kiddos enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt. This was a first for Miss A, but she caught on quick! All it took for her was discovering that there was candy inside of the eggs!

Excited about her find!
Hunting with her Dada
Oh wait, you mean there is candy in these things?!
The egg doesn't taste too bad either :)

Getting the hang of things. Grabbing an egg in each hand!

Dada let her try a chocolate egg!

Mmm yummy!

Such a sweet smile!
After the egg hunt, the older kids had a 3 legged race.  Then, Papa helped Ashlynn with the egg race.  She did not want to hold it in the spoon though, she just grabbed it with her hands!

Next up, Nonnie helped Ashlynn with "Pin-the-tail-on-the-bunny"!

Before everyone headed out, we snapped a group pic of the kiddos that were there!

Baby B: 36 Weeks

Woohoo! We have hit 36 weeks...aka 9 months! At my appointment last week, Dr. E wanted to check for dilation because my meds have not been working as well on my contractions. It turns out that I am 1.5 cm dilated! I start my weekly appt. tomorrow, so we will see if I have made any progress.

Easter 2012

It seems that lately, most of our "plans" have fallen through.  We were not able to go to my grandparent's for Easter.  We also decided that it was best not to go to church on Sunday morning, and just to go hang out with Mark's family nearby that afternoon (where there were lots of hands to help with Ashlynn and comfy couches for me to rest on.)

Even though the focus for our family is not on candy, bunnies and eggs, I do like to take the chance to gift them all with something special (This is def. one of my love languages!)

A quick family picture:

And a little "outtake"!

Miss Priss in her sweet dress!

Ashylnn got spoiled by everyone that day!

We met up with Mark's family at the Hupp's (his second family).  We all enjoyed a brunch style meal and some sports watching!

Sorry Uncle Mike....but this is the only picture I snapped of you!

Ashlynn took a nap with Grandma...

And then continued it on a nice long walk!

I was sad that we were not able to go to church as a family, but am so thankful that the message of the cross does not stay inside of the walls of the church.  Our prayer is that our girls will grow up knowing the joy and importance of Easter, and that it will mean as much to them as it does to us.

Easter Weekend

Originally, our plans were to head to my grandparents for Easter.  We had not gotten to see them in way too long, and it would be the last time for a bit that we could travel. Unfortunately, the whole "kidney stone" thing threw that plan for a loop.  Instead, we decided to stay home, and we sent Miss A with my mom to see them for a few days!

On Thursday night, she went to a retirement party for one of my mom's coworkers! She hammed it up, and was blowing kisses through the window!

Friday and Saturday, they went down to the lake! She got lots of attention from her Granny and Bampa! I am so glad that she was able to see them, and sad that we weren't. :/

Golf cart ride! She would cry when she had to get off.
Playing with Bampa!
She said "Granny" this weekend :)
Stealing a bite of food from Uncle Shane!
Saturday night, my mom brought her home so that we could spend Easter together as a family.  I am so grateful to my mom for taking time to drive her and take care of her while she was gone!
