Prairie Lights

Last night, our little family headed out to see the drive through lights in Grand Prairie.

A posed "horrible parent" picture

Once we got inside of the gates, we let the girls sit up front with us.

Ashlynn loved to pretend to drive us!

She thought the lights were "tool!" (Cool)

Halfway through, we got to stop and have a little fun! We walked through the lit forest.

Well, the adults walked, and Ashlynn danced!

And climbed over the ropes and off of the "path"...

Next up, we rode the carosel!

Miss B and I got in on the fun too!

It was such a fun experience, and full of laughs for this mama and daddy! We are so thankful for the chances to make special memories with our girls.

A little Christmas fun!

Yesterday, my mom took off 1/2 a day of work, and we had a fun "Girls Christmas Day!"

We started out with a trip to meet "Mr. Clause". Mark got to swing by and join us for this, too! The way that they had Santa pictures set up was great. The girls sat in Mrs. Clause's lap and read a book, while Santa secretly posed behind them. He then came around and sat down with them.

This worked well, because Ashlynn was not too sure about Santa sitting next to her! She started reaching out for me, and then burst into tears!

After Santa, Mark headed back to work, and us girls grabbed lunch and took a ride on the carousel!

Next up, we checked out a cute collection of shops. It is basically a building full of Pinterest-inspired cuteness!

And a few snowmen that were just A's size!

We shopped until sweet Bailey dropped!

Starbucks was across the street, so we decided to treat Ashlynn to her first hot chocolate and a cookie!

It was so sweet how much she enjoyed her treats!

We decided to try and get a little Christmas shopping done, so we headed to Target next. The girls were SUCH troopers, and even had a little fun together while we browsed.

We ended the day by meeting up with Mark at CiCi's to fuel our shopping induced hunger ;) It was SUCH a joy-filled day, and I love being able to great such special memories with the girls.

Thanks GaGa for such a fun day!

"Friendsgiving"

Our Thanksgiving season was beyond full of love, laughter and good food!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we had the chance to do Thanksgiving with our home group.  This was a bittersweet time, because it was also our last time with our group.  With the move {update coming soon!}, we are switching to the Fort Worth campus of our church, and therefore changing groups.

The makeup of our group has changed drastically in the 3 years that we have lived here. People have moved and leaders have changed. But regardless of location, age or stage in life, one thing remains: These are our people. The ones that we do life with, the people we grow and learn with.  These folks have walked along side us in the darkness, and rejoiced with us in the light.

Some of our current group members have seen our babies grow from teeny newborn. They are family to our girls. What a blessing from the Lord to place us in such a community. We.Are.Blessed.

Whew. Enough sap before I start crying…On to the fun!

Our Thanksgiving night was full of a potluck dinner, new friends and a game or 2 of Taboo.

There was also a lot of baby playing,

baby cuddling,

football watching,

and cheesy picture taking!

To our sweet group members(from past and present), we love you so much. Thank you for the honor of inviting us into your hearts and your homes. We hope to always be a part of your lives in one way or another!

We love you,

The Sangenitos

Thanksgiving Part 2

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we got the chance to join my dad and Lianna for their Thanksgiving! It was a low key day full of great food and laughing kiddos!

Bailey ate her lunch before the rest of us, and she gobbled it up ;)

Ashlynn spent her day outside. She thinks Papa's yard is just as fun as any park!

After we ate lunch, we spent time catching up and enjoying the beautiful day!

Miss A skipped her nap AGAIN (are you sensing a holiday trend?), so she crashed out once she cuddled up with Papa to watch tv.

Before we left, we snapped a pic of almost all of the grandkids with Nonnie! (Poor A was still conked out, so I held her for the picture.)

It was such a relaxing day, and we are so thankful that we have so much family that we can love on and spend time with!

Thanks for having us Papa and Nonnie!

Thanksgiving Part 1

This year, we spent Thanksgiving Day with Mark's family. It was nice to catch up with people we hadn't seen in a while.

Before we headed out, we had a little relaxing family day.  Ashlynn also moved her high chair, climbed onto the counter, opened a box of cupcakes and ate THREE of them! All in the matter of minutes. Crazy crazy girl. She climbed down and came to eat the 3rd in front of us.

Around lunchtime, we headed to meet up with everyone. Ashlynn was very excited to see "Gam-maw and Gam-pa!"

Miss Bailey was just happy in general!

Mark's parent's brought his old train set for Ashlynn to play with. She was thrilled. They kept her occupied for most of the day.

She even let her sister play with them!

The girls enjoyed all of the attention that they got throughout the day from their uncles.

Bailey and Grandpa Tony even got a nap in!

When Ashlynn wasn't playing with trains, she was eating. That girl loves her some good food!

Here are a few of the obligatory, but much loved group photos!

After our food settled, we took a walk. Uncle Mike carried A until we got to the park.

And then she played her heart out with Mark and I!

When we got back, it was time for dessert, and Christmas PJs!

A days worth of food and fun, plus no nap, equalled one very tired Baby A!

It was such a fun day, but even more so, it was a sweet day. One that was full of reflection on the past year, and how much Mark and I truly have to be thankful for. The past year has been really hard, and has been full of some of the hardest moments of our marriage, but the Lord has been good to us. He has given us one another, and 2 precious baby girls who we truly treasure, and we are beyond thankful for the lessons and blessing of 2013.
