Halloween at the Arboretum

This year we took our 2nd annual Halloween trip to the Arboretum with friends!

Last year compared to this year:
Kelynn, Addi and Ashlynn
Addi, Bailey and Ashlynn (Elliot was sleeping)

And here is my ladybug last year, compared with my ladybug this year:

We had a great time playing in the pumpkins and *trying* to take cute pics of the kiddos!

Next up was a picnic!

After lunch, I did capture a few of the mandatory "fall/pumpkin" photos.

We ended the day walking around, and hitting up the face-painting and petting zoo.

First time with makeup. And last for a LONG time!

I am so thankful for the sweet friends God has blessed us with, and for a beautiful fall day spent having fun.

The State Fair 2013

This past weekend, we went on our annual "State Fair" trip with friends.

We decided to take the DART to get there. It was a little crazy, but worth watching Ashlynn's excitement over riding the "TAIN!"

First up when we arrived was the item of #1 importance: Corn dogs, with a side of fried Reese's.

Around the fair, they have tea stations set up with cheap tea. Ashlynn may have gotten to drink a *little* of our tea.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather, walked around a ton, and enjoyed a few rests in between.

After we got food taken care of (for the moment), we took Ashlynn to see the animals! She recognized the cow, sheep, pig and chicken. She was most entertained with watching the goats and the baby pigs.

Next up was a trip to meet the Borden cow. She was NOT sure about the mama cow, but liked watching the calf.

And what trip to the fair is complete without sitting in the creepy massage chairs?!

A full day led to a tuckered out bis sister. And Bailey was such a trooper! She loved riding around just relaxing in the stroller all day.

The girls got to meet Big Tex for the 1st time! (He had burned down the day before we went last year...)

We are so thankful for friends who
A)Like the fair and food
B)Love our kiddos (almost) as much as we do!

The exhibit this year was on Big Tex. We watched a movie about how they made the new one, and Ashlynn got to dress up in Big Tex clothes!

For the grand finale, we had...you guessed it...more fried food! Throughout the day we tried:
Corndogs, Fried Reeses, Red Velvet Funnel cake, Fried Thanksgiving dinner, Funnel cake fries, Texas Tornado fries, fried cuban roll, fried frito pie, fried cheese curds, fried cuban potatoes, and friend King Ranch casserole. Wow!

Happy 6 Months Bailey!

Bay-Bay,

Happy half birthday precious girl! Your sweet spirit and smile light up our lives, and you have become your sister's best friend.  She has named you "Bay-Bay" and fiercely loves and protects you.

We went to the doctor this month for your 6 months checkup. You got a few shots (you and your sister cried about that!).  The doctor said you are healthy and growing great!

Stats:
Height: 27 3/4 inches (97%!!)
Weight: 17 lbs. 10 oz. (80%)
Head: 71%

You take a 6 oz. bottle every 3-4 hours.  You have also been eating baby food for dinner each night.  You wake up each day around 7:30, and take 3 naps.  You go to bed around 8 pm.  The foods you currently eat are: pears, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and pumpkin. You are currently wearing size 3 diapers, size 6 month (and a few 6-9 month) clothes, and size 2 shoes. You greatly dislike wearing socks.

You have gotten so strong this month.  You love to sit up-in your exersaucer, swings and at dinner. You also love tummy time! You have not really rolled over, but when you are on your tummy you will get your knees up in the crawling position and swim with your arms.

You crack us up when you sleep. You want your paci in your mouth, with a lovey on top of your head, and a lovey in each arm! You normally wake up 1 time each night to eat a bottle.  If you wake up for any other reason, you will entertain yourself until you fall back to sleep.

This month you have started babbling and cooing.  You will also blow raspberries!

You have started holding your own bottle.  Mama is not sure she is ready for this, but Daddy is pretty proud of you!

This month you also went to your first pumpkin patch!

And sadly, you also survived your 2nd stomach bug.  It was a rough few days, but thankfully you are a pretty sweet sick girl. We did a lot of cuddling!

And finally....a big first this month is: You got your first TWO teeth! Both of your front 2 bottom teeth came in a week and a half ago, within a few days of each other.

Happy, happy girl, we love you SO much! It is such a joy to be your mama and daddy.  You are halfway to 1, and it will be such fun watching the journey.

We love you Baby B,
Mama and Daddy
