The State Fair 2013

This past weekend, we went on our annual "State Fair" trip with friends.

We decided to take the DART to get there. It was a little crazy, but worth watching Ashlynn's excitement over riding the "TAIN!"

First up when we arrived was the item of #1 importance: Corn dogs, with a side of fried Reese's.

Around the fair, they have tea stations set up with cheap tea. Ashlynn may have gotten to drink a *little* of our tea.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather, walked around a ton, and enjoyed a few rests in between.

After we got food taken care of (for the moment), we took Ashlynn to see the animals! She recognized the cow, sheep, pig and chicken. She was most entertained with watching the goats and the baby pigs.

Next up was a trip to meet the Borden cow. She was NOT sure about the mama cow, but liked watching the calf.

And what trip to the fair is complete without sitting in the creepy massage chairs?!

A full day led to a tuckered out bis sister. And Bailey was such a trooper! She loved riding around just relaxing in the stroller all day.

The girls got to meet Big Tex for the 1st time! (He had burned down the day before we went last year...)

We are so thankful for friends who
A)Like the fair and food
B)Love our kiddos (almost) as much as we do!

The exhibit this year was on Big Tex. We watched a movie about how they made the new one, and Ashlynn got to dress up in Big Tex clothes!

For the grand finale, we had...you guessed it...more fried food! Throughout the day we tried:
Corndogs, Fried Reeses, Red Velvet Funnel cake, Fried Thanksgiving dinner, Funnel cake fries, Texas Tornado fries, fried cuban roll, fried frito pie, fried cheese curds, fried cuban potatoes, and friend King Ranch casserole. Wow!
