This Christmas/holiday season was unlike any before. Having a child seems to change all of the that. We began to recognize the things we want our family to focus on during this time, and also things we may stray away from emphasizing. Even though Ashlynn did not understand the trees, lights, wrapping paper or nativities, it was such a joy to watch her experience these new things and to spend time with those who love her.
We started off our Christmas with a trip down to my grandparents. I can remember going to the Land of Lights there growing up, and was so excited to see Ashlynn's reaction. She was very quiet, very curious and in awe of the lights and music!
She spent a lot of time with her Granny and Bampa, her G-Ma and Uncle Shane, and my Aunt and Uncle and cousins. She even said "Bampa" while we were there!
On Sunday, we got the chance to attend the church where I served, and it was such a blessing to see so many faces that we loved!
When we came home, we had lunch and Ashlynn (and everyone else!) enjoyed her first go round of opening presents.

She especially loved opening a present with her cousin Abbi, and trying to eat the wrapping paper :)
Our trip to my grandparents was short, but a sweet time. We love them so much, and are so grateful that they are getting to watch Ashlynn grow up and be apart of her life!
