Bay's 1st Haircut

Bailey's hair has been slow growing. Except for a a patch on the back that I have lovingly referred to as her afro. Or her clown hair.

I finally decided that it was time to say adios to the 'fro.  I did not want to pay $15-$20 for someone to cut such a little amount of hair, so I talked Mark into cutting it for me :)

She was NOT a fan of the hair cut (to be honest, her mama had a hard time too!) But I think it turned out pretty great in the end!

"Dat not funny!"

I have been trying to document some of the things that Ashlynn has said lately. She has had us rolling with laughter.

*She took her sister's sunglasses and I had her give them back.  I said, "Those are Bailey's." She looked at me with the most serious face and said, "Actuawwy, dey mine."

*One day, Bailey was crying in the cry while Ashlynn was trying to talk.  Ashlynn yelled, "BEEEEEE quiet. TOOOOO loud bay!"

*Ashlynn doesn't like to brush her hair, because it can get tangled.  I went to brush it after her bath, and she said, "Mama, I can't bwush it." I asked her why not. Her response: "I scared of everwything."

*I told Ashlynn that she couldn't have something the other day.  She looked at me, smiled, and said, "Mama, I pwobabwy (probably) gonna need one."

*If she doesn't want to do something, she will say, "No, I can't wike (like) it"

*Ashlynn likes to play doctor. Today, she said, "Mama, I check your heart beep." She put her stethoscope up, and said "Oh no mama, you no heart beep. You loose your stuffing." She pretended to stuff my knee, and then said "All better!" and then she looked at me expectantly until I sang the "I feel better" song from Doc McStuffins.

*She does this new thing in the car where she will yell "MAMA, STOP TALKING!" if Mark and I are talking. Mark had a talk with her about being respectful to me, and then we started laughing about it. She got super angry and yelled, "STOP WAUGHING! IT NOT FUNNY!!! STOP WAUGHING YOU GUYS! DAT NOT FUNNY" I have never laughed so hard.

*Ashlynn needed a nap while we were driving. She said "Mama, my eyes are feewing tired." A few minutes later she said "I getting reawwy sweepy." Right after that she conked out :)

B-U-S-Y

And this...this is why I haven't blogged! All of these pictures are from the past 2 weeks! (And they don't even cover some of the bigger happenings!) We have been crazy busy!

Dinner with Gaga

Swinging sisters

The best place for stickers? The forehead.
The girls got to go with Gaga and Gator down to their Granny and Bampa's house one day! They loved playing with everyone.

Future stylist in the making?

Last week, we met some friends at the zoo!

Ashlynn touched a snake!

And then we just had some goofy moments at home!

Pigtails AND overalls! Love!
We also had a rough week sleep wise. This is what one looks like when they wake up at 4 am...

Thankfully, leopard and boots fixed all of her problems!

Until they crashed...

They have been getting along so well lately (for the most part!)

"OOOO! Shiny sparklies mama!"

And finally...a 3 man band!

Tot School

I had toyed with the idea of sending the girls to a MDO this fall, but for multiple reasons decided not to.  I still wanted to make sure A was learning/exploring, so I decided to do "Tot School" with her. It is not as intense as preschool, as we are just doing 30 min-1 hr, 2 days a week.

We don't have room for "school", so I put it on a folding board that I can hide in the closet. We are working on letter and number recognition, Spanish and sign language, math concepts, life themes, and pre-writing.

The girls love sitting on their stools getting ready for school.

This month, one of our themes is "All About Me". Ashlynn loved making a picture of herself on a circle.

Bailey loved...eating crayons!

First day of tot school picture:

And what better way to celebrate a first day than lunch with Gaga!

Memory Lane

My mom is moving soon, and so she is cleaning out things in her house.  One of her storage sheds was full with everything that had been in my room when I moved off to college.  She asked me to come sort through things with her, and it led to a productive (purging) day, but also a fun walk down memory lane!

First up, we found some of our (mine and Shane's) old art projects.  It is a good thing neither of us went into art as a profession...

We also found my box of trophies. Mark asked if they were all for "Participation" :)

My dollhouse that I had as a little girl was out there as well.  My Nanny made it for me, and I hope to freshen it up for the girls to use! The box below the dollhouse was full of my old barbies!

The girls had fun playing in some of Uncle Shane's old hats.

I think it is safe to say that my brother was the wild child, based on the number of casts he has had! (And this is not even all of them!)

We came across some old pictures too! This one of Shane reminds me a lot of Bailey.

And this one of me reminds me of Ashlynn in a lot of ways.

When I was young, my mom would play me a tape with my own birthday song on it! A few years ago, a friend gave me a copy on CD, but it was fun to find the original too!
