Bailey: 1 Month

Bailey,

You are 1 month old today! This first month has flown by so much faster than it did with your sister.  You have fit right into our little family, and we love you so much!

We went to the doctor for your 1 week checkup today!

Your stats
Weight: 9 lb. 10 oz. (64%)
Height: 21.5 inches (68%)
Head circumference: 37.5 cm (62%)

You are such a sweet little baby. It is fun seeing how you are your own person, unique and different from Ashlynn.

You:
Don't like the swaddle
Don't care much for a pacifier
Like the swing
Love the bouncy seat
Will fall asleep on your own if you are laid down
Are calmed by tummy time
Love laying on your side

You are currently wearing size 1 diapers.  You can still wear newborn clothes, and are wearing some 0-3/3 month clothes.  You eat 3-4 oz every 2-4 hours.  In the past few nights, you have gone for a 5 hour stretch at night! Mommy and Daddy are really excited about this!

You are a very peaceful, cuddly baby.  You love to curl up in the moby wrap or on our chests. When you are awake you will lay and watch us with wide eyes. You have had some issues with an upset tummy this month. We are trying a new formula and a probiotic to see if they help.  We have found a bottle that you like, and learned that premixing your bottles helps with your spit up issues. You really only cry because of gas, and if you are hungry.

We are in awe of how much your sister loves you! She always asks to please hold you.  If you are crying, she will try and take you away from me to hug and kiss you.  Each morning, she gives you a kiss as soon as she sees you! She also likes to try and sit in your bouncy seat with you.

You have had an exciting month.

You have:
Had your first cold
Gone to church
Gone to the aquarium and the park
Stayed with your Grandma and Grandpa for a few hours

Sweet girl, you are a blessing! We pray that you will know the Lord, and that your life will bring Him glory.  It is a joy to be your parents, and we cannot wait to watch you grow!

We love you Bailey girl!

Dallas Aquarium

Today we took the girls to the Dallas Aquarium!

Bailey slept most of the time, and Ashlynn was quiet and incredibly observant! You could tell she was just taking in all of the sights and sounds.  I love how curious she is.

Her favorite animal (based on amount of time spent staring) was the flamingos. She also got pretty wide-eyed when the catfish swam up to us!

Watching the anteater

Checking out the monkeys!

"Hey mom! Did you see that sting ray?!"

Catfish

Miss Bailey woke up to see the penguins!
We love that we live in an area with so many fun, educational places to take the girls! The zoo and the FW Museum of Science and History are next on our list!

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day left me feeling blessed.  To be honest, I started out the day battling post-pregnancy emotions.  I am thankful to my husband for his grace in these moments, and for a day that ended up being such a joy.  We spent time cuddling as a family since we were late for church, and then we enjoyed a beautiful lunch outside with friends and ended the day fellowshipping with our home group.

Me and my sweet blessings!
Here are a few photos I snapped throughout our day! I am so blessed to be called mommy by these two precious girls.  Their presence in my life has already taught me more than I could have imagined, and cause more sanctification than I could have thought possible from such little people.

I pray that our children will look back someday and see a childhood full of love, full of family, and most importantly full of Jesus.  I pray that I will serve my family well, and that I will treasure each moment that the Lord gives me with them.

Our Hospital Stay

We delivered Bailey at the same hotel hospital that we delivered Ashlynn at. It really is an incredible place and such a peaceful, restful experience.

Love this sweet girl to pieces!

The nurses are all top of the line. Friendly, encouraging and helpful.  And to top that off, the food is excellent.  I am talking "Steak and Lobster Celebration Dinner" caliber.

Naptime for Baby B!

During our stay, alot of our family came to meet Miss Bailey. (Since none of them were actually there for her speedy arrival!)

Uncle Shane
*Funny story* My brother had been telling me for months not to have Bailey on either of the last 2 weekends in April, because he had plans.  Of course, I had her on the first of those weekends, when he was out of town-with no cell signal.  I wouldn't let anyone post about her arrival until I could try and get in touch with him. God is good, and Shane happened to get my message around lunchtime that Saturday!

Grandma (and Grandpa and Uncle Mike came too!)
Our sweet friends Andrew and Katya

G-Ma (and Gator!)
We had other friends and family visit, but we were not as good at taking pictures this time around!

It was such a sweet few days of getting to know our newest baby girl!

Headed home!
And Ashlynn was taken good care of too! She got spoiled for a few days at her G-Ma and Gators!

Super-Baby!

I snapped these pics of both girls on "going home" day!
