On the road again!

This past week, we spent a few days out at the lake with my grandparents.  On our way down, we took a pit stop by G-Ma and Gator's. Ashlynn got a little time with G-Ma while I got a much needed haircut!

We headed to the lake bright and early the next morning! My grandparents have always been such a huge part of my life, and I consider it such a blessing that the are a part of Ashlynn's life as well.

Ashlynn needed a quick break on our trip home, so we stopped by to see Papa! (And had a minor green-bean induced meltdown...)

Then it was time for home sweet home. I think she missed these two...

Thanks again for letting us come Granny and Bampa. I wish that our trip had been longer, and that we still lived close, but am so glad that we live close enough to visit often! We are already planning on another trip soon.

Happy 6 Months!

Ashlynn,

I can't believe you are already 1/2 a year old! It seems like the past 6 months have flown by.  Your daddy and I love you more everyday.  Our lifestyles have changed in many ways since your arrival, but we would't change it for anything!

You were pretty sick on your 1/2 birthday, but we took a quick picture.  This was the first bad cold that you have had, and it was tough on you and on mommy and daddy. It was also the first time that you had to go to the doctor for a reason besides your regular check ups.

Your 6 month stats are:

Weight: 18 lbs. 6 oz. (90%)

Height: 26.8 in. (84%)

Head Circumference: 43.2 cm. (71%)

You got a few more shots this time around as well.  

As of 6 months, you had only rolled over 3 times.  The doctor was not worried, and said that it was because you are a little chubbier than some 6 month olds. :)

You are wearing 6-9 month (and a few 12 month) outfits.  You are mainly in cloth diapers, but wear size 3 disposables.  We tried wearing shoes this month, but you did not care for them!

You are still  SUCH a happy baby.  Your eyes smile all by themselves!  

Tummy time is not your favorite activity, but you do ok if there is a baby video playing in front of you. You still love your playmat, but prefer to sit at it instead of lay under it.  You love to sit in your exersaucer.

You are sitting up like a pro! You also like to hold our hands and pull yourself to a standing position. You also have a new sit&play/walker that you love to play with!

Each day, you take 2-3 naps.  You go to bed around 8:30-9:30.  Most nights you will sleep through the night.  Being sick meant that you woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep.  You would stay up for 3 hours and just play in your crib.

You are an excellent eater! You have only eaten 1 meal a day (dinner) this month.  You will normally eat 2 oz.  Peas are not your favorite.  You also take 6-6.5 oz bottles every 3-3.5 hours.

In 6 short months we will be celebrating your 1st birthday! We can't wait to see how much you change in the next 6 months of your life!

4th of July

We spent our 4th of July a little differently this year! It was decided that a late night and loud fireworks may not be the best option for our little family :)

Instead, the day was spent swimming

...and grilling with friends.

All of the festivities wore our girl out!
