You've got a friend

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got troubles and I got em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together, we can see it through
Cause you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
Yes, you've got a friend in me!

Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend, we went with our friend Stacie and her nephew to check out a nearby pumpkin patch.  The goal? Wear out the kiddos. The result? A lot of fun, cute pictures, and priceless memories!

Of course, the first thing we had to check out were the "Buppies!!!!" and "Doh-ra!"

Next up were the bounce houses. She was not to sure about them.

Sweet girl was OBSESSED with the pumpkins. She could have roamed around looking at them all night. She got to take home a baby pumpkin thanks to "Tay-cee".

She also enjoyed the hay maze! It was built so that every route led you to the end...perfect for our adventurous girl!

Before we left, A wanted to ride on the spinny playground ride (mind blank on their real name...) I was not to sure about that, but her daddy set her up on it, and showed her how to hold on tight.

To say she had fun would be an understatement.  We loved watching the expressions on her face each time she came around!

We finally had to make her get off when she started getting the "dizzy and dazed" look!

Looking through these pictures as I type almost brings me to tears. Our hearts are beyond full.  Making new memories with our babies is pretty spectacular!

Happy {Belated...again!) 5 months Bailey!

Bailey boo,

You are 5 months old! Wow...time flies! You are such a bundle of sweetness and joy in our lives. Your personality has really started to shine, and we love watching you grow!

We didn't go to the doctor this month, so I am not sure your stats. I can say that you are l-o-n-g! You were the same outfit that your sister did for her 5 month picture, but it would barely snap on you.

At 5 months, you were taking a 5.5 oz bottle every 3-4 hours.  You have started to get on a good schedule, too.  You wake up, play for about 15 minutes, and then take a nap. After that, you repeat the "play, eat, nap" until bedtime around 8. During the night, you wake around 12-1, and again around 4-5 am. You are wearing size 2 diapers, and size 3-6 and 6 month outfits.

Here are a few more things about you at 5 months:

You love bathtime, and rolling around in your towel afterwards
You fall asleep on your own in your bed
You can sit in the Bumbo or the high chair, and love it
You are ALL smiles
You have started babbling and talking to us
You are super drooly and love to chew on things
Nicknames: Bay Boo, Bay Bay, Bailey Boo, Bailey Boop

This month, you have been figuring out your little body! You love to do tummy time on pillows, and watch your sister or baby videos.  You also LOVE to play with your toes, and to roll side to side.  You have rolled each direction at least once now! This month, you used your jumper for the first time! You weren't too sure about it, but I am sure it will grow on you.  You have also started holding yourself up (when we stand you up), and sitting some when we sit you up.

This month, you have started recognizing faces. When your daddy comes home, you light up! You love to see your sister, and watch what she does. It is amazing to see what yall's relationship is like, even though you are still so little. She already protects you, even from Mommy trying to feed you a bottle :)

Precious girl, we love you so much! In just a few short weeks, you will be 1/2 a year old. We are not ready for you to grow so fast, but are so excited to watch you develop all at the same time.  We pray that your sweet disposition will glorify God as you grow, and that you will always know how loved you are!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

#michiganadventures

Towards the end of August, Tonya and I decided to head up to Michigan to visit Katie,Ben and Kelynn! That meant braving the airport twice, with 2 babies, but I think we did pretty good!

We made sure to get to DFW early on Saturday, leaving time for breakfast and playing out A's early morning energy.

It was a pretty successful morning, minus Bailey peeing on me before we even went through security!

Our flight there was great. A slept almost the entire way, and Miss B was super chill.

It was so fun watching Ashlynn and Kel play together. They spent so much time together when they were babies! Ben and Katie were gracious enough to have us up right after they moved, so the girlies had fun playing in a box fort :)

It was also fantastic to get to relax and catch up with our sweet friends! We just picked up right where we left off!

Curly headed friends
Trying out Baby Girl Zuv's toys for her!
While there, we went to the beach! I couldn't quite wrap my head around the concept of a beach in Michigan, but it was beautiful!

Ashlynn was NOT sure about the sand or the water at first.  Once she got used to it, she was ok. She preferred sitting on the blanket digging in the sand the most.

And as per her norm, Miss B slept through all of our beach fun!

That Monday, Ben and Katie had work, so we hit up a local park that had splash pads and a beach. Later that evening, Tonya and I cooked dinner for the Zuv's!

On Tuesday, we were going to try and fly out around lunch time, but found out the flight was almost full.  Instead of try and chase A around an airport for 6 hours until the next flight, we decided to check out the Children's Museum. I am so glad we did-it was such fun!

BUBBLES!

Our flight home was a little more interesting, as A started to get cranky, but even then, it was not bad at all!

Ben and Katie-Thank you SO much for having us!! It was great to catch up and to love on your growing family! Can't wait to see you again soon! Love yall!

Ashlynn: 19-20 Months

Ashlynn,

You are 20 months old! Here is a little peek back at the past few months!

You are sassy. Feisty. Saracastic. Joyful. Too smart. Crazy. Precious. And cr-ecious. Apparently you can't decide if you are crazy or precious, so you call yourself cr-ecious. So fitting!

You love your sister fiercely.  You love your Mommy and Daddy just as much! A few other loves:
Accessories
Stickers
Babies
Frog (Your paci)
Grandparents and Uncles
Buppies! (Bubble Guppies)

You are still fearless. But you have started to gain a little reasonable caution. Hallelujah. Although, that somehow does not stop you from jumping from high places, or climbing onto anything possible :)

You are a ham. You see a camera and go "Cheese!!!" You will pose when we try to take your picture as well.

You eat anything. Lima beans, bananas, strawberries, and broccoli are favorites. You also love "doodles" aka noodles.  You drink lots and lots of milk and water.  Normally you eat 3 meals, and snack in between each of them. You love to feed yourself, even if it is messy! Also you have a crazy obsession with ice. It is pretty hilarious to see how excited you get over it!

You are wearing size 24 month-2 t clothing for the most part, although some 18 month still fit.  You are in size 6.5 shoes, and size 5 diapers. At night time you will wear sleep diapers.

This month, you flew on an airplane for the 2nd time.  We went to visit your friend Kel, and you got to go to the beach for the first time!

You are talking up a storm. You know "1,2,3" and "A,B,C".  You will also pretend to sign the alphabet.  You know the color yellow. You have started telling us after you go "poop". I am hoping this is the first step toward potty training! You also started sleeping in your toddler bed some.

Here are a few of your nicknames:
Mommy calls you "ash-bash" or "Ash-Ash"
Daddy calls you "Baby A"
Bampa and Granny call you "Little Bit" and "Sweet Pea"
You call yourself "Ah-een"

Our sweet girl, you are such a joy. You are a light in our lives, and keep us rolling. Each day, we learn new things about you! We pray that the Lord would use your joy for His glory, and that you would know Him, baby girl. It is hard to believe that in just 4 short months you will be 2!

We love you,
Mommy and Daddy
